Another View from the Reviewer’s Chair
In a previous Writer’s Desk post, I published a lengthy article written by a “Vine Voice” reviewer who served during Round Two of the 2010 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. The link below takes you to a similar account by a reviewer for this year’s contest, and I found the slightly different approaches of the two reviewers to be of interest.

On Facebook, too.
You are a mine of info, and very generous with it.
Commenced new project, and feel all the better for it. The day is fine, the sun is singing and birds are shining, and all is well on the Piccadilly Line.
Are you on authonomy, Tosh? Perhaps not your thing? I’ve found it mighty helpful, if only every time I see my efforts, I can spot the need for tightening. But also, more altruistically, there are some cracking writers on there, and often with a good sense of humour. Like yours.
Glad to offer what I can, Billie.
I think new projects are the best defense against becoming obsessed with waiting for replies to queries or contest results. Staying busy with what we love to do makes all the difference. Fine sunny days with birds around and about, eh? Sounds delightful.
I’d never heard of authonomy until you mentioned it. Visited the site a moment ago and it looks interesting, albeit with the same tinge of caution so prevalent with any publishing endeavors outside the traditional boundaries. I’ll delve deeper when I get the chance, and thanks for letting me know about it.
